Drove both back to back last weekend. My honest comparison: M235i (N55): - Smoother power delivery - More comfortable daily - Cheaper to buy and insure - Still very fast with a tune M2 (N55 but different tune): - Sharper handling - Better brakes - More aggressive looks - Wider track - Stiffer suspension For daily driving, the M235i is the better choice. For weekend fun and track days, the M2. The price difference is about 10-15k EUR for similar age/mileage. I ended up buying the M235i and putting the savings into mods.

Black paint is the hardest to maintain but looks the best when properly corrected and coated. Nice work on the paint correction!

Had both cars. The M2 has a stiffer chassis, wider track, and better brakes. But the M235i with a stage 1 tune matches the M2 in a straight line. Where the M2 really shines is on track - the wider body and better cooling make a big difference in sustained hard driving. For daily use, the M235i is the smarter buy.

The M235i also has the advantage of being less conspicuous. Lower insurance, less attention from police, and you can still embarrass much more expensive cars with a simple tune. The M2 tax is real - you pay a premium just for the M badge.
