We have a customer with an i4 eDrive40 who commutes similar to you. In winter he gets about 350-380 km real range at highway speeds. Summer is closer to 450-480 km.
The biggest range killer is highway speed and heating. At 130 km/h in winter with heating on, expect about 60-65% of WLTP range.
I test drove one for a week in January. Got about 340 km in mixed driving at around 2°C. Highway at 130+ was eating battery fast.
Without home charging its going to be tough for daily use imo. Public chargers are unreliable and you'll spend a lot of time waiting. I ended up going with a 330e plug-in hybrid instead.
my colleague has one and loves it. but he has home charging which makes all the difference. without home charging id seriously reconsider. the convenience factor drops massively.
the car itself is amazing though. the torque is insane and its super comfortable for commuting.
not gonna lie, as a petrolhead the i4 surprised me when I drove one. its genuinely fast and handles well for an EV. but the range anxiety is real, especially in winter.
if you can get home charging installed, go for it. if not, maybe wait another generation until batteries improve.
