Ive imported 3 BMWs from Germany to Lithuania. Here are my tips:

  1. Always check the VIN on BMW ETK for full spec
  2. Use mobile.de or autoscout24.de to find cars
  3. Get a pre-purchase inspection (100-200 EUR)
  4. Check for flood damage (common with German cars)
  5. Verify mileage with BMW dealer (they can check service history)
  6. Budget for transport (500-800 EUR to Baltics)
  7. Budget for registration and taxes

Biggest pitfall: cars that look perfect in photos but have hidden problems. ALWAYS inspect in person or hire someone local to inspect.

Great tips! I would add: check the car on the ADAC used car check website. They have reliability ratings for every BMW model and year.
