EGR valve cleaning vs delete - N47 engine

My N47 EGR valve is clogged again (3rd time in 2 years). Should I just keep cleaning it or do a proper EGR delete? Cleaning costs 200 EUR each time and the problem keeps coming back. What are the risks of EGR delete? Will it throw codes? Will it affect the MOT/TUV inspection?

EGR delete wont throw codes if done properly with a remap. The tuner disables the EGR function in the ECU. For MOT, it depends on your country - some check, some dont.

Just delete the EGR. Cleaning it every 6 months is a waste of money. The delete is a one-time cost and you never have to worry about it again.
