Upgraded turbo inlet pipe - worth it for stage 1?

Is an upgraded turbo inlet pipe worth it if im only running stage 1? Some people say its a must-have, others say its only needed for stage 2+. Car is F30 340i B58. Dont want to spend money on parts that wont make a difference at my power level.

On N55, the stock turbo inlet pipe is a known weak point - it can crack under boost, especially with a tune. Upgrading to an aluminum one from VRSF or Burger Motorsports is cheap insurance. On B58, the stock inlet is fine for stage 1.

The N55 charge pipe (not inlet pipe) is the one that cracks. The turbo inlet pipe upgrade gives a small flow improvement but its not necessary for stage 1. The charge pipe upgrade is essential though - the stock plastic one WILL crack eventually with a tune.
