Random question but can you tune the electric motor on an F30 330e? I know the petrol engine can be remapped but what about the electric side? Would be cool to get more torque from the e-motor.

Or is the electric side completely locked down?

The electric motor on the 330e is controlled by a separate power electronics module, not the engine ECU. Currently no tuners have cracked it. You can tune the petrol engine side though - the B48 responds well to a stage 1 remap, going from 184hp to about 230hp on the combustion side.

I tuned the petrol side of my 330e with BM3 and its noticeably quicker. The electric motor still provides its 88hp boost in sport mode so combined you get a nice bump. The electric side is locked down tight by BMW though - no way to modify it currently.
