Garage setup - what tools do you have?

Just moved to a house with a garage and want to set it up for working on cars. What tools do you guys have in your garage?

So far I have:

  • Basic socket set
  • Jack and jack stands
  • Some wrenches

What else do I need for basic BMW maintenance and light modding? Budget is about 500 EUR for tools.

    invest in a good floor jack and jack stands. the cheap ones are dangerous. I use a 3-ton Arcan jack and its been great for 5 years

    Get a good torque wrench (30-200 Nm range), a set of hex/Torx bits, and a brake caliper tool. Those three things will let you do 90% of BMW maintenance.
