Popbangs/crackle map on B58 - is it bad for the engine?
My tuner offers a crackle/popbang map for my B58 340i. Sounds amazing on YouTube videos but is it bad for the engine or exhaust?
Ive heard it can:
- Damage catalytic converters
- Overheat the turbo
- Cause backfires that damage the exhaust
Is this true or just internet myths? I want the pops and bangs but not at the cost of reliability.
