Want to wrap my F30 steering wheel in Alcantara. Has anyone done this DIY? I found some kits on AliExpress for 50 EUR but not sure about quality.

Or should I just pay a professional? Local upholstery shop quoted 250 EUR for Alcantara wrap with colored stitching.

Also considering a carbon fiber steering wheel from eBay but those are 400+ EUR.

Go professional for Alcantara wrapping. Its a very unforgiving material - if you stretch it wrong or get adhesive on the face, its ruined. A good upholstery shop will charge 200-350 EUR and the result will be perfect. DIY Alcantara wrap kits exist but the quality is nowhere near professional work.

I did mine DIY and honestly it came out decent but not perfect. The tricky parts are the thumb grips and the seam at the back. If you go DIY, buy extra material because youll mess up at least once. Use 3M 77 spray adhesive and work in small sections.
