BMW service intervals - are they too long?

BMW recommends oil changes every 30,000 km with their Condition Based Service system. But every mechanic I talk to says this is way too long and will damage the engine.

I change my oil every 10,000 km on my F30 330i. Am I wasting money or being smart?

What intervals do you guys use? Especially interested in hearing from people with high mileage BMWs.

The 30k km interval is fine for normal driving with BMW approved oil. But if you tune your car or drive hard, shorter intervals are recommended.

BMW service intervals are way too long. 10k km oil changes are the way to go. Your engine will thank you at 200k+ km.
