Want to buy an ECU reading/writing tool for my tuning business. Comparing: 1. CMD Flash (~3000 EUR) - OBD and bench, good BMW support 2. KTag (~2500 EUR) - bench only, very reliable 3. Autotuner (~3500 EUR) - OBD and bench, newest on market Mainly working on BMW N and B series engines. Which tool has the best BMW coverage and reliability? Also considering buying used to save money. Any risks with used tools?

Good guide on valve cover gasket. One tip: replace the eccentric shaft sensor seal at the same time. Its right there and only costs 10 EUR for the seal.

CMD Flash is the best all-rounder for BMW. It supports OBD reading on most BMW ECUs including the newer Bosch MD1/MG1 family. KTag is bench-only which means you need to remove the ECU - more work but sometimes necessary for locked ECUs. Autotuner is newer and has good OBD support but the subscription model is expensive. For a professional tuner, CMD Flash is the standard. For a hobbyist doing their own car, Autotuner might be more user-friendly.
