Want to hardwire my Viofo A129 dash cam in my F30. Which fuse should I tap for:

  1. Constant power (for parking mode)
  2. Switched power (turns off with ignition)

Dont want to drain the battery. Some dash cams have a voltage cutoff but want to be safe.

Also, where do you guys route the cable? I want a clean install with no visible wires.

Dyno numbers are meaningless without specifying the dyno type. Always ask what dyno was used before comparing numbers.

For the F30, tap into fuse F15 (always on) for parking mode recording, or fuse F87 (ignition on) for driving-only recording. Use a hardwire kit with a voltage cutoff (like the Viofo HK3) to prevent battery drain. Route the cable along the headliner, down the A-pillar, and behind the glovebox to the fuse box. The whole install takes about 45 minutes.
