Just did front brakes on my E90. Surprisingly easy job. Took about 2 hours for both sides.

Parts used:

  • Brembo rotors (pair): 120 EUR
  • Textar brake pads: 55 EUR
  • Brake pad sensor: 8 EUR

Total: 183 EUR vs 650 EUR at BMW dealer. Saved almost 500 EUR!

The hardest part was compressing the caliper pistons. Get a proper brake caliper tool, dont try with a C-clamp.

2 weeks is too long for adaptation. Something is wrong with the tune. Contact the tuner and ask them to check the logs. A good TCU tune shouldnt cause fault codes.

Good guide. A few additions: always replace the brake pad wear sensor when doing pads - theyre one-time use and cost about 10 EUR each. After installing new pads and rotors, do a proper bedding procedure: 10 moderate stops from 60km/h, then 5 hard stops from 80km/h, then let the brakes cool for 15 minutes. This transfers an even layer of pad material to the rotor surface for optimal braking.
