Changed spark plugs on my F30 335i N55 today. Heres the process:

  1. Remove engine cover (pull up)
  2. Disconnect ignition coil connectors (6 of them)
  3. Remove ignition coils (10mm bolt each)
  4. Remove spark plugs with 14mm thin wall socket and extension
  5. Gap new plugs to 0.65mm (NGK 97506 for N55)
  6. Install new plugs, torque to 22 Nm
  7. Reinstall coils and connectors

Took about 45 minutes. Plugs were due at 60k km. Old ones looked pretty worn.

Great guide! One tip: use a torque wrench for the drain plug. Over-tightening can strip the oil pan threads which is an expensive fix.
