Complete guide to the most popular BMW coding modifications for F-series (F20, F30, F10, etc.) and G-series (G20, G30, etc.) cars. Tools needed: - Bimmercode app (30 EUR, works with OBD WiFi/BT adapter) - easiest option - E-Sys + ENET cable (free software, 20 EUR cable) - most powerful option Top 15 coding mods: 1. Digital speedometer - adds digital speed readout to instrument cluster 2. Folding mirrors on lock/unlock - mirrors fold when you lock the car 3. Disable auto start-stop default - car starts with start-stop OFF 4. Sport displays - enables sport gauges in instrument cluster 5. Exhaust burble/crackle (G-series only) - adds pops on overrun 6. Ambient lighting colors - unlocks all color options 7. Needle sweep on startup - gauges sweep when you start the car 8. Legal disclaimer removal - removes the iDrive startup warning 9. Seatbelt warning disable - removes the annoying chime 10. One-touch turn signal - adjusts from 3 blinks to 5 blinks 11. Auto door lock at speed - locks doors when you start driving 12. Daytime running lights as turn signals - US-style DRL blinkers 13. Video in motion - enables video playback while driving (passenger use only!) 14. Apple CarPlay fullscreen - removes the split-screen limitation 15. Comfort closing from key fob - hold lock button to close all windows All of these are reversible and dont affect warranty (BMW cant detect coding changes through normal diagnostics). Great list! I would add one more essential coding: enabling the hidden M Performance power and torque gauges on F-series cars. In Bimmercode its under Instrument Cluster > Sport Displays. It shows real-time hp and torque output which is really cool and useful for monitoring your tune.

I just coded my F30 with Bimmercode last weekend using this list. The folding mirrors and digital speedo are game changers. So easy to do - literally took 5 minutes per coding. Why doesnt BMW enable these from factory?!

For anyone on G-series, the exhaust burble coding is amazing. It adds pops and crackles on overrun like the M cars have. Works on 330i, 340i, and M340i. Just be aware it might annoy your neighbors lol.
